| Council Provides Rapid Response to Floods Emergency | 18 August 2008 |
| Technical Services staff at Banbridge District Council were quick to provide emergency assistance to local householders whose homes were affected by the flooding caused by Saturday’s torrential downpours. On Saturday Council staff helped Rivers Agency and Roads Service staff to hand out sandbags in several residential areas throughout Banbridge in an effort to divert flooding.

| Banbridge Summer Splash Schemes Start | 14 August 2008 |
| Approximately 150 young people across the Banbridge District will have the opportunity to take part in the locally run Summer Splash schemes designed to help prevent them from getting involved in anti-social activities during the summer. | Catriona Regan has been appointed to the new position of Community and Enterprise Services Director with Banbridge District Council. Catriona takes over from Mike Reith who is set to retire in September after 31 years service with the local authority. Full Story |
