To mark the Centenary of the Ulster Solemn League and Covenant, Banbridge District Council is offering financial assistance towards commemorative events taking place throughout the district.

Events organised by groups during 2012 may be eligible for consideration for financial support from the grants programme provided they meet a set assessment criteria.

Council Chairman, Councillor Junior McCrum stated, “2012 marks the Centenary of the Ulster Solemn League and Covenant  and the council is aware that a wide range of cultural, heritage and grass roots organisations may wish to mark this significant anniversary.  It is with this in mind that the council has agreed to support any such historical commemorative events by offering modest financial assistance.”

Application forms and criteria for grant funding are available by contacting Banbridge District Council Leisure and Development Department on the number below  The closing date for applications is 5.00 pm on Friday 17 August 2012.
