Background:	Link was established by Co-operation Ireland in the mid 1990's.
Highlights:	Exchanges with Carlow take place largely on an informal basis. Strong links and exchanges take place on a sporting front between Rathfriland Football Club, Banbridge Rugby Club and Banbridge Golf Club. The Association has sponsored a Perpetual Trophy to be played for each year between Banbridge and Carlow Golf Clubs. Youth exchanges take place with Banbridge High School and with the Banbridge Youth Project. Arts and crafts exchanges also continue on an annual basis.
