Department Description:
The Environmental Health Department is responsible for providing a range of statutory and advisory services designed to protect and enhance public health and safety, and to contribute to the overall improvement in the health of the community and the quality of life for all living and working in the District. The Environmental Health Department is reponsible for enforcing a wide range of legislation.

The legislation includes Acts of Parliament, Orders in Council, Regulations, Bye-Laws and Statutory Codes of Practice. Any enforcement action taken by the Environmental Health Department is taken in accordance with its enforcement policy.
