Bin Collection Calendar and Recycle Guide
Banbridge District Council offers a cost-effective recycling and refuse collection service. This provides commercial customers with access to the standard black bin kerbside collection scheme for non recyclable waste, the brown bin kerbside collection scheme for organic waste and the green bin for dry recyclables. The gren and brown bins and black bin are collected on alternate weeks. Every business and school should have received a waste collection calendar in March highlighting the weeks when their brown bin, recycling bin and black bin will be collected. For your convenience click here for a downloadable calendar.
The current calendar operates from April 2012 to March 2013. It is important that you keep your calendar in a safe place for easy retrieval. Your bins will be collected on the same day each week unless otherwise stated in the collection calendar. (See revised collections section of waste collection calendar) It also contains important information about recycling in general. If you lose your calendar, you can contact the Council for a replacement copy provided these are still in stock.

Public Holiday Arrangements
Special arrangements are made to continue provision of service on all public or bank holidays.

Missed Bins
If your bin has been left out for collection and is not emptied, you can contact the Council's Technical Services Department. Every effort will be made to have it emptied within 24 hours. Where weather conditions prevent normal service, you will be advised of service changes through the local media and this website. Please note that damaged and faulty bins will not be emptied.

Excess Waste
Excess general waste can be taken along to any one of the three Community Recycling Centres located in Banbridge (Scarva Road), Dromore (Mossvale Road) and Rathfriland (Iveagh Park Road).

Refuse Collection (Commercial Waste)
The Council's Technical Services Department provides a waste collection service for some 300 commercial outlets on a charging basis. Up to 400 bins are collected weekly from commercial premises. Commercial premises can purchase one of more bins of varying capacity. See the list of charges below for bins along with weekly and annual collection fees. If you operate a business within the Banbridge District and would like to request this service, you can contact the Council's Technical Services Department.
