The cottage is comfortably furnished and has a log burning stove in the lounge and oil fired central heating throughout. The modern kitchen has all the appliances needed including a washing machine and dryer, iron, microwave etc. All bed linen is supplied as well as towels and drying cloths. All crockery and cutlery is also supplied. At the back of the property there is an enclosed area suitable for barbeque. At the front there is a large lawn area and parking for several cars. Scion Hill Gate Lodge is situated at the top of a long tree lined avenue leading to the Gentleman’s Residence, Scion Hill. Built in 1840 for George Waugh a JP it served as a Porter’s Lodge for the main house. It is a listed building and has been restored by completely renovating the original building while adding an extensive new wing. This means that although the Gate Lodge retains many of its original features, including High Ceilings, it also provides all those Modern Luxuries we have come to expect. |
