The Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) is now the largest party having won a total of seven seats, followed by the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) with five seats. The Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) returned with two seats and the Alliance Party (ALL) with
one seat.
As in 2005 when it won its first ever seat in the district, Sinn Féin (SF) made history once again by regaining a seat in the district electoral area of Knockiveagh and winning another in Dromore. This is the first time that Sinn Féin has been represented in this district electoral area.
