Banbridge District has many park and play areas for local residents to enjoy. They are the ideal place to go if you would like to take a stroll, enjoy some fresh air, walk your dog or have some fun with your children.  At certain times of the year, you can even feed the ducks or swans in some of these parks. The main parks and play areas include:

Dromore Town Park	Located on the edge of Dromore, this park offers walks and a child's play area. The River Lagan flows through this park.
Loughbrickland Park	This small park is located in the picturesque village of Loughbrickland and boasts an excellent play area for children.
Scarva Park	Located in the historic and picturesque village of Scarva, this attractive park contains a small pond, pheasant aviary and child's play area. The park is also home to the local football team.
Solitude Park	Located in the centre of Banbridge, this park offers walks and a large supervised children's play area. The River Bann runs through this park.
Woodlands Park	Located in Gilford at the rear of the former Gilford Mill, this small park offers a child's play facility and grass pitch. The environment is enhanced by a variety of mature trees.

With the exception of the play area in Solitude Park, all parks in the District are are open to the public at all hours. The play area in Solitude Park has varying opening hours depending upon the time of year.  

Other Public Parks and Play Areas
The Council is responsible for the maintenance of these parks and play areas. It has also developed a further 19 small play areas within housing developments throughout the District. These parks are located in the following areas:
