If your family is linked to the County Down area and you would like to trace your family tree, then you should make use of the local genealogical research service provided at Banbridge Tourist Information Centre. Banbridge Genealogy can help trace your ancestors from the County Down area using a database consisting of some 750,000 birth, marriage and death records.
This service costs £15 for a full ancestoral search with an additional £3 for printing out the information that is obtained from the search. The search fee must be paid depending on whether the search is successful or not in order to cover our costs.
Searches can be conducted to cover the following areas: Aghaderg, Annaclone, Annahilt, Ardglass, Clonallon, Clonduff, Donaghcloney, Donaghmore, Down, Dromara, Dromore, Drumballyroney, Drumgath, Drumgooland, Garvaghy, Kilbroney, Kilkeel, Kilcoo, Killyleagh, Kilmegan, Kilmore, Loughinisland, Maghera, Magherally, Newry, Rathmullan, Saintfield, Seapatrick, Tullylish and Warrenpoint.
This service is normally available from Monday to Friday during the hours of 10am-5pm. However, it is recommended that you book an appointment for a genealogy consultation. Genealogical searches can range from one hour to three hours.
