This website has been developed to make it easy for you to find the information that you want with very little effort. Many features have been incorporated into the site to ensure information searches are straightforward and simple. A description of each feature is provided along with an explanation of how each one works in practice.
Colour Coded Areas
The website has three core areas containing a wealth of information that has been tailored to suit the information requirements of three key user groups, residents, visitors and businesses. Each area is colour-coded so that you can easily identify the area that you are currently in. The three areas are colour-coded as follows:
On the top right hand side of each page, you can choose which area you would like to enter by selecting the appropriate link (resident, visitor or business).
This website can be navigated in a number of ways, including the left-hand navigation menu, quick links and the you are here page trail feature. The main navigation for the website is the navigation menu on the left hand side of every page. This will allow you to find your way around the whole site. This navigation menu is tailored for each section (resident, visitor, business) so it important that you ensure you are in the right section before you select a link in the list. Located on the top right–hand side of every page, quick links is an important navigation tool as it allows the user to access information very quickly by selecting the relevant link from a drop down menu. Similarly, the 'you are here' page trail feature or breadcrumb trail as it is commonly known is a useful navigational aid. Located at the top in the centre section of every page, it shows a set of clickable links enabling users to easily identify where they are within the site and where they have come from.
If you cannot find what you are looking for by using the quick links or navigation menu, then you can use the search facility. The search link is located in the right-hand top corner of each page. Once selected, it will ask you to enter your search criteria. After a few seconds, it will display a list of all pages that contain the keyword or phrase you provided. You can then select the relevant link to view the page containing this information. This feature is useful for general or specific searches.
The sitemap provides a listing of all pages contained within this website. You can choose to view all the pages or an alphabetical listing of pages.
