The Council has long supported the work of groups and individuals in the local area by giving them financial assistance to help them improve their performance and achieve their goals. To date, grants awarded have helped to promote sporting excellence, promote arts activities and events, build capacity among community groups and promote good relations.

The Council believes this support plays an important role in creating and maintaining strong, sustainable communities. A new grant aid policy was introduced by the Council in April 2005 to ensure that all grant applications are assessed against a set of criteria and all individuals and groups are treated in a fair and equitable way. Grants are available to qualifying organisations that operate throughout the Banbridge District Council area or individuals who reside in the Banbridge District.
